WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
How are We?
Our journey began in October 2021 when Frank Benoit, along with a client, embarked on a transformative two-week safari with Golden Rwanda Safaris in Africa. During this remarkable experience, it became clear that the shared visions of the Association of Hole in the Nature Camps and Golden Rwanda Safaris could be seamlessly merged to create a sustainable and impactful program in Africa. This realization marked the birth of the inaugural project, Impact Adventure, within the Golden Rwanda Safaris program, which was launched in October of the same year.
At its core, the creation of Impact Adventure was a natural evolution of Golden Rwanda Safaris' long-standing vision. Recognizing the immense challenges faced by Africa's wildlife areas, particularly in the regions where Golden Rwanda Safaris operates—an array of delicate and environmentally sensitive hotspots—we understood the urgency of taking action. It became abundantly clear that the future of these fragile areas could be safeguarded by placing our focus on children and empowering local communities through a program of exceptional caliber.
How Are We?
Children in the Wildlife stands today as a testament to our unwavering commitment to making a lasting impact. Our organization is a non-profit that operates as a collaborative effort between Golden Rwanda Safaris and the Association of Hole in the Nature Camps. Since our inception, we have been dedicated to facilitating sustainable conservation through leadership development and education for children across Africa.
Our flagship program, the Children in the Wildlife program, serves as a powerful catalyst for change. By providing environmental and life skills education to children, we inspire the next generation of decision-makers, nurturing their understanding of the importance of conservation and their role as custodians of Africa's natural heritage.
Through a range of carefully crafted initiatives, we aim to create lasting change. From hosting Eco-Club programs in local schools to organizing transformative camps in collaboration with Golden Rwanda Safaris and partner camps, we ensure that children from rural communities, living on the fringes of Africa's wild areas, have access to meaningful experiences in nature. These experiences instill a deep sense of care and responsibility for their environment, fostering a generation of conservation-minded individuals.
In addition to our core programs, Children in the Wildlife has initiated various other initiatives to support children, teachers, and parents within their own communities. We strive to make a positive impact through school nutrition schemes, village upliftment programs, and scholarship programs, all of which contribute to the holistic development of children and the betterment of their communities.
We firmly believe that by empowering children with knowledge, nurturing their connection to nature, and fostering a sense of stewardship, we can create a sustainable future where wildlife and communities thrive harmoniously.

About Us
Children in the Wildlife is a non-profit organization supported by Golden Rwanda Safaris, an ecotourism company. Our primary objective is to facilitate sustainable conservation through the development of leadership skills and the provision of education for children across Africa.
The conservation of Africa's pristine wildlife areas demands insight, care, and commitment. To ensure the preservation of these invaluable places for future generations, it is essential for the rural children of Africa to understand the importance of conservation and its relevance in their lives. This is where our Children in the Wildlife program comes into play. Our program focuses on environmental and life skills education for children, with a particular emphasis on nurturing the next generation of decision-makers. Through this program, we aim to inspire children to care for their natural heritage and become the custodians of these areas in the future.
We employ a variety of approaches to achieve our goals. One such approach is hosting Eco-Club programs at local schools, where children actively engage in activities that promote environmental awareness and conservation.
Additionally, we organize camps in collaboration with Golden Rwanda Safaris and partner camps, providing children from rural communities living on the edges of Africa's wild areas with immersive experiences in nature. These camps serve as transformative opportunities for children to forge a profound connection with their natural surroundings, cultivating a deep sense of appreciation and responsibility for the environment.
Children in the Wildlife has also initiated several other impactful initiatives to support children, teachers, and parents within their own communities. These include school nutrition schemes to ensure children have access to proper nourishment, village upliftment programs to enhance the quality of life in local communities, and scholarship programs to provide educational opportunities for deserving students.
